A beautiful and increasingly collectible piece of New Hampshire history. This antique hand-colored landscape photograph depicts Echo Lake in Franconia Notch, one of the most iconic scenic locations in New Hampshire's White Mountains. The photograph is signed in script within the image border:

The work was created by Charles Henry Sawyer (1869-1949), a well-known New Hampshire photographer celebrated for his artistic scenic views of the White Mountains and surrounding region. His hand-colored photographs were popular souvenirs and decorative artworks during the early twentieth century and remain highly sought after by collectors of New England photography and regional history.

The image captures a tranquil mountain lake surrounded by colorful foliage and rolling peaks, all delicately enhanced with hand-applied color. It remains housed in its original ornate wood frame under glass.
