A wonderful early 20th century piece of artwork! This is a framed in-glass, hand-colored photograph by the artist, Charles Henry Sawyer (1869-1949). The photograph is noted in beautiful cursive writing by the artist, "Echo Lake, Franconia Notch. Sawyer." Charles Sawyer was an American photographer renowned for his scenic views of New Hampshire, particularly the White Mountains. He established his studio in Concord, New Hampshire, and became known for his artistic compositions and hand-colored photographs. His work captured the beauty of the region. Echo Lake and Franconia Notch are iconic locations within the White Mountain National Forest. The frame is wooden and ornate and comes wired for hanging. The full piece is in good antique condition for its age. The matting does have two very small holes. Measurements: 9 X 10.

Vintage and Antique Items:
All inventory is pre-owned vintage, antique or artisan pieces. These pieces may be unique and hold marks of their previous lives. For instance, we sell many brass or silver pieces and they may show some tarnishing or patina. We do not polish the pieces as we personally love the aging, as many do! We leave it up to the new owner and their preferences for aiming to remove or not. Our goal is to provide accurate descriptions for every listing, with detailed photographs and notations of imperfections. Please review descriptions and photographs before purchasing. If you have any concerns or issues, please contact us so that we may address them and do our best to meet your needs.
