This beloved early 20th century nature and ornithology volume was written by noted naturalist Neltje Blanchan, with an introduction by celebrated American nature writer John Burroughs. The book became highly popular for making bird identification accessible to everyday readers and amateur naturalists during the golden age of bird study in America.

Good antique condition overall for age. General wear to cover and edges consistent with over 120 years of age. Some spotting/foxing and visible separation/cracking to the interior hinge as shown. Pages remain present and display beautifully. A lovely decorative and readable antique nature volume.

For instance, we sell many brass or silver pieces and they may show some tarnishing or patina. We do not polish the pieces as we personally love the aging, as many do! We leave it up to the new owner and their preferences for aiming to remove or not.
